What do we dispute among ourselves?

New Testament: Mark 9.33

To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 9.30–50 on March 3, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023

By Don Ruhl

We dispute with one another, but is it worth it? Consider this from the pen of Mark when Jesus asked the disciples about their dispute:

Then He came to Capernaum. And when He was in the house He asked them, “What was it you disputed among yourselves on the road?”

– Mark 9.33

Have you argued with someone recently? What was it over? Was it worth it? Yes, some things we must contend for, but other issues we should let slide.

When the Lord asks you what you were disputing with someone, will you be embarrassed to say what it was?

  • Can you find Capernaum on a map?
  • Do you have any control over what you say?
