They hated Jesus, but feared the multitude

New Testament: Mark 12.12

To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 12.1–27 on March 8, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023

By Don Ruhl

Jesus exposed the wickedness of the chief priests, scribes, and elders by means of a parable, and they wanted to arrest him for what he said, but they did not:

And they sought to lay hands on Him, but feared the multitude, for they knew He had spoken the parable against them. So they left Him and went away.

– Mark 12.12

Later they would figure out that they had to get the crowds against Jesus, then they could do to him whatever they desired.

Do not be swayed by evil leaders or evil crowds, but let Jesus guide you in life.
