When brother fights against brother and one even kills the other, it is truly a sad sight, but that happened in David’s family, which was a consequence of his sin with Bathsheba and against her husband. 

God allowed David’s sons to be against one another, and for one even to kill the other: 

So the servants of Absalom did to Amnon as Absalom had commanded. Then all the king’s sons arose, and each one got on his mule and fled.

– 2 Samuel 13.29 

Amnon had raped Absalom’s sister and from that day on, Absalom determined to kill Amnon. Finally, it happened and when the rest of David’s sons found out about it, they fled for their lives, no doubt fearing that Absalom might go after them too. 

Absalom paid for his sin, but David was also paying for his sin. 

It is true that God will forgive us for whatever we have done, but we may still have to suffer for our sin. It is better to avoid the sin in the first place.
