Nathanael concluded that Jesus is the Son of God, the King of Israel. Nathanael believed simply because Jesus revealed what he had been doing before he met Jesus, but the Lord made a great promise to him: 

And He said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.”

– John 1.51 

Jesus promised this man some truly magnificent things that he would witness, especially that somehow he would see heaven open and the angels of God using Jesus to go to heaven and to come down from heaven to earth. 

When you believe in Jesus, you may not see what Nathanael saw, but you will truly see wonderful things.
