Old Testament: 2Ki 20.20–21
To read the Bible in a year, read Second Kings 20–22 on May 18, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023
By Don Ruhl
After King Hezekiah of Judah died, the Bible notes something that he, “made a pool and a tunnel and brought water into the city” (2 Kings 20.20–21).
The writer also mentioned that the might of Hezekiah was recorded in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah.
We can read in the Bible of some of the things that Hezekiah did, and there had been other documents that recorded his doings as king, which have not been preserved.
However, the writer happened to reference the tunnel that Hezekiah made that brought water into Jerusalem so that when the Assyrians came to attack the city, Judah would be able to endure it. What is interesting is that the tunnel still exists and it brings water to Jerusalem. You can go to Jerusalem, see it, and walk in it.
The things that Scripture records truly happened.
