New Testament: John 9.41
To read the Bible in a year, read John 9.24–41 on May 25, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023
By Don Ruhl
Jesus had a way of revealing people for what they truly were. For example, he said that, “For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind” (John 9.39).
Some of the Pharisees then asked him whether they were blind. To which he responded: “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains” (John 9.41).
The Pharisees were full of themselves and they thought they were sinlessness, but they would not listen to the Son of God, because they claimed they could already see. In other words, they were not open to his teaching, and so their sin remained.
Questions:
- Are you open to all that Jesus teaches?
- What do you do when you come across one of his teachings that offends you?
