Old Testament: Numbers 31.48–49
To read the Bible in a year, read Numbers 30–31 on March 3, In the year of our Lord Christ 2025
By Don Ruhl
When Israel obeyed the Lord and fought his enemies, not only did they defeat his enemies, but all the children of Israel survived: “Then the officers who were over thousands of the army, the captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, came near to Moses; and they said to Moses, ‘Your servants have taken a count of the men of war who are under our command, and not a man of us is missing’” (Numbers 31.48–49).
This should not surprise us, because the Lord has the power to preserve us when we do what he says he wants done.
Questions from today’s reading and devotional:
- What did the text go on to say Israel did to honor God?
- How have you honored God for what he has done for you?
