08.27.2016 New Testament: 1Co 8.9–11
To read the Bible in a year, read First Corinthians 8 on August 27, In the year of our Lord 2016

We have a tendency to think of ourselves first, and since we have liberty in Christ, we think of what that means for us, but the Holy Spirit gave us this warning,
But beware lest somehow this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to those who are weak. For if anyone sees you who have knowledge eating in an idol’s temple, will not the conscience of him who is weak be emboldened to eat those things offered to idols? And because of your knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died? (1 Corinthians 8.9–11).
My Christianity is not about me, it is about the Lord, others, and then me. Therefore, let us not so think of our liberty in Christ that we cause a brother to fall, a brother for whom Christ died as well as for you. Do you want to destroy the work of Christ in the life of your brother?
