03.24.2017 – Old Testament: Jos 12.7–24
To read the Bible in a year, read Joshua 11–13 on March 24, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
The children of Israel entered the promised land, and they had to fight the inhabitants of the land, because they had given themselves over to sin completely, and the Lord wanted them removed from the Earth. Joshua listed the kings whom they conquered,
And these are the kings of the country which Joshua and the children of Israel conquered on this side of the Jordan, on the west, from Baal Gad in the Valley of Lebanon as far as Mount Halak and the ascent to Seir, which Joshua gave to the tribes of Israel as a possession according to their divisions, in the mountain country, in the lowlands, in the Jordan plain, in the slopes, in the wilderness, and in the South—the Hittites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: the king of Jericho, one; the king of Ai, which is beside Bethel, one…all the kings, thirty-one (Joshua 12.7–24).
Those were real places with real kings who experienced real death as the wrath of God by the hand of the Israelites. This shows that God kept His promise that He gave initially to Abraham. Truly, God keeps all His promises.
- What promises of God are yet to be fulfilled?
- Have you kept all your promises?
