We love Jesus. We see His love for us. We know of His blessings for the present, and we have the indescribable hope of heaven for later. Yet, some people just do not want anything to do with Him. Prepare yourself for the rejection,
Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem, and sent messengers before His face. And as they went, they entered a village of the Samaritans, to prepare for Him. But they did not receive Him, because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem (Luke 9.51–53).
Jesus did not intend on staying in Samaria, and the Samaritans could see in His face, that Jerusalem was His goal. Therefore, they did not receive Him. That angered some of His disciples, and they wanted to destroy Samaria for it, but Jesus rebuked them.
- How does it affect you when people reject Jesus?
- Have you rejected Him in the past?
