07.07.2017 – Old Testament: Job 36.8–10
To read the Bible in a year, read Job 35–37 on July 7, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
Elihu explained that God is mighty, yet He does not despise anyone. He also watches the righteous favorably. Therefore, if affliction grips them, He helps them to see the problem,
“And if they are bound in fetters,
Held in the cords of affliction,
Then He tells them their work and their transgressions—
That they have acted defiantly.
He also opens their ear to instruction,
And commands that they turn from iniquity.”
(Job 36.8–10)
God so works in our lives that as we look back, we should be able to see His hand in our lives. For example, if you suffer, it does not mean that He has punished you, but He could still use the experience to teach you.
