10.08.2018 – Old Testament: Isa 40.12–14
To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 39–40 on October 8, In the year of our Lord 2018
By Don Ruhl
People challenge God as though they believe that He does not know what He is doing. When they do such things, they have no idea who He is, as Isaiah said of our God:
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand,
Measured heaven with a span
And calculated the dust of the earth in a measure?
Weighed the mountains in scales
And the hills in a balance?
Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD,
Or as His counselor has taught Him?
With whom did He take counsel, and who instructed Him,
And taught Him in the path of justice?
Who taught Him knowledge,
And showed Him the way of understanding?
If you can do any of those things, then perhaps you can challenge Him. If you cannot do those things, what should you do in regard to Him?
- Do you think that God knows what He is doing?
- What is the largest thing that you have ever measured?
