If this is true, why don’t we pray more?

To read the Bible in a year, read First John 5 on December 6, In the year of our Lord Christ 2018

Think on the following passage of Scripture, considering what the Holy Spirit is telling you and then examine your life to see whether you take advantage of the teaching here or whether you try to seek your own ways in life:

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him (1 John 5.14–15).

Did the Bible actually say that if we ask anything according to God’s will that He hears us, and that if He hears us, we have what we have asked of Him? Yes, that is precisely what the Bible says.

Questions:

  • Do you consult the Lord for the issues of your life?
  • If you do not pray often, have you figured out why?
