Old Testament: Exo 28.36–37
To read the Bible in a year, read Exodus 27–28 on February 1, In the year of our Lord Christ 2021
By Don Ruhl
The high priest had the magnificent privilege of entering into the Holy of Holies on behalf of Israel as he met with God himself. The priest wore something that summarized his job when he entered into the tabernacle:
“You shall also make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it, like the engraving of a signet:
HOLINESS TO THE LORD.
And you shall put it on a blue cord, that it may be on the turban; it shall be on the front of the turban.”
– Exodus 28.36–37
Before he could enter the tabernacle and then the Holy of Holies, he had to go through certain steps that he might be holy in his presentation to the Lord. At that moment then, he was holiness to the Lord.
Later, the true High Priest, whom the Israelite high priest represented, presented himself to the Father in heaven, and he was holiness to the Lord, and he made it possible for us to follow him into heaven.
Questions:
- Are you on the way to heaven?
- Have you been made holy by having your sins forgiven?
