New Testament: Mark 4.31–32
To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 4.21–41 on February 22, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
The kingdom of God, which is the church, is a kingdom like the earth has never seen. It started growing in the first century and has not let up, so that now we can say that it covers the earth. Truly, the sun never sets on the kingdom of God. Jesus illustrated its growth in this way:
“It is like a mustard seed which, when it is sown on the ground, is smaller than all the seeds on earth; but when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out large branches, so that the birds of the air may nest under its shade.”
– Mark 4.31–32
It started with a small number on the first Day of Pentecost after the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, and now only the God of heaven knows the numbers of its citizens.
Questions:
- Are you part of the kingdom of God?
- If not, do you know how to become part of it?
