New Testament: Mark 12.31
To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 12.28–44 on March 9, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
A man wanted to know what the greatest commandment was, and Jesus told him that the greatest commandment was to love God. Then Jesus added:
“And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
– Mark 12.31
We can have all the right doctrines nailed down, but if we do not love our neighbor as we love ourselves, we have not yet become what God wants us to be.
Examine your heart today and see whether you love others as you want them to love you, and see whether you actually go out and practice it.
Questions:
- Why is love the supreme command?
- How do you want others to love you?
- Do you love them in those ways?
