Takers are always takers

New Testament: Luke 16.24

To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 16.19–31 on April 18, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022

By Don Ruhl

Most people are either takers or givers, and regardless of the situation, most people remain the same.

For example, Jesus showed a rich man who lived only for himself and refused to help others, but when he died, he wanted others to help him. In the Hadean world, he saw a poor man whom the rich man had refused to help on earth, but now the poor man was in a place of comfort, and the rich man cried out:

“Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.”

– Luke 16.24

The rich man only thought of himself on earth and he continued to think of himself after death.

What we will be after death is what we are making ourselves now.
