Old Testament: 1Ch 4.18–23
To read the Bible in a year, read First Chronicles 3–5 on May 21, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022

As Ezra continued to write the genealogy of Judah, he referenced something that we never really talk about:
…these were the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took…Now the records are ancient. These were the potters and those who dwell at Netaim and Gederah; there they dwelt with the king for his work.
– 1 Chronicles 4.18–23
We know that Solomon, who was of Judah, married a daughter of one of the Pharaohs, but who was this guy Mered? We do not know anything else about him, but the Lord knows him, and the Lord wanted this preserved in Scripture.
It is interesting that Ezra noted that the records are ancient, which from our place in history, we would say that about all the Bible, but he assured the reader that the things he revealed about the genealogies had been preserved from the earliest of times.
Okay, so Mered married Pharaoh’s daughter, but right along with that Ezra spoke of potters and that they worked for the king. No one is insignificant in the eyes of the Lord.
