One of the major differences between Jesus and everyone else

New Testament: John 8.23

To read the Bible in a year, read John 8.21–36 on May 22, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022

In how many ways does Jesus differ from us, even when he lived as a man on the earth? Let me mention at least one, and this is a big one:

“You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.”

– John 8.23

He laid it out just the way it is. His sentences were simple and easy to understand, yet, the profundity of them goes so deep that thousands of sermons have flowed from them!

He is our Teacher and we seek to be like him. Our beginnings come from this world and we have to convert from the world, but if we follow him, learning what he teaches us, we shall think as from above and not of this world.

  • What or who has the greatest influence on your thinking?
