Old Testament: Job 16.19–22
To read the Bible in a year, read Job 16–18 on June 29, In the year of our Lord 2022
By Don Ruhl
As Job argued with his friends about the cause of his massive suffering, he knew and his friends knew, that God knew everything. Therefore, Job declared:
“Surely even now my witness is in heaven,
And my evidence is on high.
My friends scorn me;
My eyes pour out tears to God.
Oh, that one might plead for a man with God,
As a man pleads for his neighbor!
For when a few years are finished,
I shall go the way of no return.”
– Job 16.19–22
Job knew that a meeting with God would show the right. That is why Job continued to pour out his heart to God.
Questions:
- Where do you go when you want someone to hear your pleas for help?
- Do you believe that God sees everything that happens to you?
