New Testament: Rom 7.13
To read the Bible in a year, read Romans 7 on August 6, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
Frequently, Christians will speak against the Old Testament as though it was a bad thing, but in Romans 7, Paul showed that it was not a bad thing. In verse 12, he even said that it was holy and just and good.
However, sin used the Law against man, so that the problem was not the Law, but sin. Since sin used the Law against us, Paul asked a question and then answered it:
Has then what is good become death to me? Certainly not! But sin, that it might appear sin, was producing death in me through what is good, so that sin through the commandment might become exceedingly sinful.
– Romans 7.13
Sin showed how bad it is by using something that God intended for our good and turned it against us. Sin is bad, but whatever God has given us is good.
