New Testament: Rom 13.2
To read the Bible in a year, read Romans 13 on August 14, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
God appointed the governing authorities, therefore, be careful how you treat the government. Paul said:
Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.
– Romans 13.2
If you resist the government, you resist the ordinance of God, and if you resist the ordinance of God, you cannot escape judgment. The government commits wrong just as you and I do, but we still have to respect what God put into place.
Questions:
- What was the Roman government like in the days of Paul?
- Can we be respectful but disagree at the same time?
