Old Testament: Psa 146.1–2
To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 145–147 on August 31, In the year of our Lord 2022
By Don Ruhl
Praise the Lord ten times? I titled this devotional in that manner, because the last five psalms, Psalms 146–150 each begin and end with the line, “Praise the Lord.”
See the determination of the psalmist to praise the Lord endlessly:
Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD, O my soul!
While I live I will praise the LORD;
I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.
– Psalm 146.1–2
The psalmist saw his life as praising the Lord. If we do not praise the Lord, what is the point of life? Everything we do and everything we are should praise the Lord.
Questions:
- Do the first two verses of Psalm 146 picture you?
- Do you know how your life should praise the Lord?
