Old Testament: Pro 3.11–12
To read the Bible in a year, read Proverbs 3–4 on September 3, In the year of our Lord 2022
By Don Ruhl
When the Father in heaven corrects you, that does not mean that He hates you, it means that He loves you, as Solomon wrote by the Spirit of God:
My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD,
Nor detest His correction;
For whom the LORD loves He corrects,
Just as a father the son in whom he delights.
– Proverbs 3.11–12
Think of the illustration that Solomon used. A father corrects his son out of love. The father does not wish to destroy his son, but wants to keep him from destroying himself. So it is when God corrects us.
Questions:
- How do you respond to correction?
- Do you correct people?
