New Testament: 1Co 15.25–26
To read the Bible in a year, read First Corinthians 15.1–32 on September 6, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
As Paul reasoned that there is a resurrection because Jesus has been resurrected, he indicated that Jesus is reigning in his kingdom now, and Paul stated how long he shall reign:
For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.
– 1 Corinthians 15.25–26
He began reigning when he ascended into heaven after his resurrection. He shall continue that reign until all his enemies are under his feet. Then Paul revealed that the last enemy that shall be put down is death, because the general resurrection will put an end to death.
Death continues to be a reality of this world and so we know that Jesus is still reigning, and has not turned over the kingdom to his Father.
Questions:
- Are you in the kingdom of Christ, which is the church?
- Are you prepared for the resurrection?
