Observe the self-controlled man

Old Testament: Pro 19.11

To read the Bible in a year, read Proverbs 19–20 on September 11, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022

By Don Ruhl

You have known people who keep a cool head in every situation of life. Have you figured out why they are that way? Consider what Solomon wrote:

The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger,
And his glory is to overlook a transgression.

– Proverbs 19.11

I would guess that the person who came up in your mind who had total control of his or her anger, was also a person with discretion. Such a person is patient and has good sense. He seeks to understand people.

Now you know what to do to control your anger.

Questions:

  • How did things work out when you lost control of your anger?
  • What ways have you tried to control your anger?
