Where anyone can look for salvation

Old Testament: Isa 45.22

To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 45–47 on October 11, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022

By Don Ruhl

Unfortunately, many people believe that the Old Testament is about Israel and only for Israel, but the Lord gave what we call the Old Testament to prepare the world for the New Testament, for you will find many passages such as this one in Isaiah that show God has always been concerned for the entire world and has been working for the world’s salvation:

“Look to Me, and be saved,
All you ends of the earth!
For I am God, and there is no other.”

– Isaiah 45.22

There is only one living and true God, and he created the earth. He created humanity, beginning with Adam and Eve, and we have all descended from them. Therefore, all the ends of the earth have always been on his heart.

That is why he says to the entire earth that we can look to him and be saved, because no one else can and will save us, for he is God alone.

Questions:

  • Have you looked to God to be saved?
  • Are you now living for him?
