You receive these devotionals because you want to learn more of God’s word. I think the brethren to whom the Book of Hebrews was addressed, had the same desire, nevertheless, the writer still said:
Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.
– Hebrews 2.1
He had spoken of the glorified position of Jesus Christ, that he is God. Therefore, whatever he says, we had better give heed to it, otherwise, we will drift away and then the writer went on to show in the rest of the Book of Hebrews, the danger of drifting away, leading eventually to falling away.
Do not let that happen. Always remain faithful to the Lord, learning to imitate Him. The way to prevent falling and to imitate Jesus Christ is to meditate in the word day and night, not only that you may know what it says, but that you may do what it says.
Questions:
- Do you give heed to the things that the Lord says?
- What happens if we do not give heed?
