New Testament: Heb 3.16–19
To read the Bible in a year, read Hebrews 3 on November 6, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
After you have become a believer, watch out that you do not fall into unbelief as the Israelites did during the Wilderness Wanderings:
For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses? Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
– Hebrews 3.16–19
That makes unbelief a serious problem for one who was once a believer. Once you have seen that there is a God and you believe in him, trusting him with your life, and then to turn from that, implies that you have discovered a reason for not believing God.
That calls into question who he is, and that is a serious matter.
Questions:
- Does your belief grow year by year or have you become stagnant?
- What do you do to increase your belief?
