Old Testament: Eze 3.8–9
To read the Bible in a year, read Ezekiel 1–3 on November 12, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
Chapters two and three of the Book of Ezekiel show the Lord preparing the prophet to be a preacher. One of the things that the Lord did was to make Ezekiel hardened against the people:
“Behold, I have made your face strong against their faces, and your forehead strong against their foreheads. Like adamant stone, harder than flint, I have made your forehead; do not be afraid of them, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.”
– Ezekiel 3.8–9
The Lord knew how even just the looks of the people could intimidate the prophet. Therefore, the Lord prepared him for their looks, so that Ezekiel would not be dismayed by the people.
The people should have rejoiced at the preaching of Ezekiel, but instead they hardened their hearts against him. However, they did not know that the Lord prepared Ezekiel to be stronger than the people.
Likewise, get filled with the word of the Lord and you shall also be strong against anyone who comes against you.
Questions:
- What has the Lord done for you in your fight against evil?
- How do you respond to preachers who declare the truth?
