What confessing Christ does for you

New Testament: 1Jo 5.16

To read the Bible in a year, read First John 5 on December 6, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022

By Don Ruhl

What should you do if you see a brother sinning? When do you pray for such a brother and when do you not pray for him? Listen to John as the Holy Spirit carried him along to write these words:

If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that.

– 1 John 5.16

Sin that does not lead to death is that from which your brother has repented, and sin leading to death is that from which your brother will not repent. Knowing these things, you now know when to pray and when to remain silent.

Questions:

  • Do you repent of all your sins?
  • How often do you pray for the members of your congregation?
