Moses, the song writer

Old Testament: Deu 31.30

To read the Bible in a year, read Deuteronomy 31–32 on March 18, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023

By Don Ruhl

Moses was a multi-talented person. We do not know what he did while living as an Egyptian, but from ages 40 to 80, he was a shepherd. Then the Lord used him to deliver one nation, Israel, out of another nation, Egypt. He knew how to function in a royal court, but he also knew how to work with slaves, and how to live in a wilderness.

Toward the end of his life, we also learn that he wrote lyrics. The end of Deuteronomy 31 says:

Then Moses spoke in the hearing of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song until they were ended…

– Deuteronomy 31.30

Of course, the song spoke of the Lord God of Israel and his works. Moses always sought to honor God and to get others to honor God.
